Prospects & Concepts

In former distribution centre of Van Nelle Fabriek

The Mondriaan Fund presented young talent in the exhibition Prospects & Concepts. In the former distribution centre of the Van Nelle Fabriek works from thirteen visual artists that have received a financial contribution in 2013 to start their career were on show.

All disciplines were represented; from painting to installations, from video to photography. Unknown talent as well as artists that already have established themselves with various projects. Curator was Mirjam Westen, conservator contemporary art at Museum Arnhem. In the edition of 2015, there were less artists present than at previous editions, as a result of that more works of the participating artists were on show. Participating artists were Jonathan van Doornum, Kevin Gallagher, Fleur van Dodewaard, Inge Meijer, Jan Hoek, Omar Koubaa, Lotte Reimann, Folke Janssen, Snejanka Mihaylova, Guy Königstein, Lennart Lahuis, Emma van der Put and Jenny Lindblom.

Flemish – Dutch Artists books

As part of the Dutch – Flemish year in 2015 the Mondriaan Fund and Kunstenpunt | Flanders Arts Institute organized a presentation of 80 artists books and other extraordinary art books from the Netherlands and Flanders. The books have been selected by Maaike Lauwaert (curator, art critic) and Luc Derycke (designer, publisher) and were be presented at a table, designed by Hendrik-Jan Hunneman, in the former distribution center at Prospects & Concepts. This presentation was organized for the occasion of the twenty year anniversary in 2015 of the Cultural Treaty Flanders – the Netherlands and the introduction of the Grant for Publications by Mondriaan Fonds.

Expertmeeting
In the citizenM-lounge at the Van Nellefabriek grounds, on Thursday 5 February, 13.45-14.45 hrs, a meeting took place about art(ist) books.
