Art Rotterdam is happy to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024! For many years Art Rotterdam is the meeting place and renowned fair for contemporary art in the Netherlands. Art lovers, collectors, art professionals and artists from all over Europe find their way to Art Rotterdam with over 100 galleries, in the iconic Van Nellefabriek, UNESCO world heritage. Last edition was characterized by a most vibrant and lively atmosphere with 28,000 high quality level of visitors and excellent sales figures for the participating galleries.

Art Rotterdam offers a stage to the latest developments in the visual arts live and up close. The works from young talent to renowned artists, the connection with the city of Rotterdam and the fascinating location give Art Rotterdam a unique, inimitable character.

Art Rotterdam composes an exquisite VIP programme for the international art scene together with our beloved partners in the city such as Kunsthal, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, Melly and TENT Rotterdam. The VIP programme kicks off with the festive preview of the fair with drinks & bites; it is the February-fresh-start-of-the-art fairs-event one wants to attend. Next to that it has a number of unprecedented highlights that include studio visits, private museum tours, specially organized drinks & dinners at extraordinary locations. The Art Rotterdam VIP programme opens doors for our much appreciated invitees that would otherwise remain closed.

Main Section

The Main Section is the heart of Art Rotterdam. Centrally located in the Coffee Factory and the Tobacco Factory, international galleries will present a selection of upcoming and more established artists to the public. A few spaces are exclusively reserved for dealers of post-WWII art and vintage photography.

The selection committee of the Main Section, Solo/Duo and New Art Section:

Solo/Duo

Approximately 15 stands in de Main Section are made available for solo or duo presentation of artists with a strong underlying curatorial concept. It is possible for a maximum of two galleries to share a Solo/Duo booth.

New Art Section

This section is focusing on works by emerging artists rather than on the age of the galleries. The New Art Section will exlusively exhibit works of emerging artists, born either in the eighties or the nineties. Please find the members of the selection committee listed above under the Main Section.

Projections

Projections has a format that matches the wishes of the galleries perfectly. The video presentations take place as part of the gallery presentation at the fair. This extends the gallery’s booth with a video space of 3 meters wide and 3 meters deep.
